Tidify privacy policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

This policy explains what information the Tidify app ("Tidify", "the app") uses, why, and the choices you have. Tidify is published by Halo Apps ("we", "us"). If you have any questions, email haloapps.dev@gmail.com.

In short

1. Your photos and videos

Tidify asks for permission to access your photo library so it can show your photos and videos, let you sort them, find screenshots, large videos, duplicates and similar photos, and delete the items you choose. All of this happens on your device, including the comparisons used to find duplicates and similar photos (a small fingerprint of each photo is computed on the phone and never leaves it). After a clean-up the app reads the total size of your gallery on the phone to show how much space you got back. If you tap Share on the clean-up summary, Android's share sheet sends the summary image only to the app you choose. Tidify never uploads, copies or shares your photos, videos or their contents, and we never receive them. On Android you can grant access to selected photos only. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your phone's settings.

Photos and videos are only deleted when you confirm it. On Android, Tidify can move deleted items to the system trash, where they stay recoverable for about 30 days (you can turn this off in Settings). On iOS, deleted items go to the Photos app's "Recently Deleted" album. If your gallery is backed up to a cloud service such as Google Photos or iCloud, that service's own settings decide whether the cloud copy is also deleted; Tidify does not access cloud services.

2. Information stored on your device

Tidify stores the following only on your device, in the app's private storage:

We cannot access this information. You can delete it at any time: use Settings › Reset all marks or Reset statistics in the app, clear the app's data in your phone's settings, or uninstall the app.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Tidify shows ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google. Ads are not shown if you have bought Tidify Pro. Watching a rewarded ad is always optional.

To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the app collects and shares with Google:

Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Tidify uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before ads are requested. If you do not consent to personalised ads, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use data such as your approximate location and device information for purposes like frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting. Where US state privacy laws apply, a similar message lets you opt out of the use of your data for targeted advertising. On iOS, Tidify asks for permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency before the IDFA can be used.

Changing your choices.

Google acts as an independent controller for some of this data. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, How Google uses cookies and other identifiers in advertising and Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure.

4. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

To find and fix bugs, Tidify uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service of Google. If the app crashes or hits a serious error, Crashlytics sends a report containing the technical details of the error (stack trace), device model, operating system version, app version, the time of the crash and a random installation identifier created by Crashlytics. Crashlytics also records when the app is opened (an anonymous session record), so we can see what share of sessions are crash-free. Crash reports do not contain your photos, videos, file names or any account details, and we do not attach any identifier of our own. We use them only to make the app more reliable. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.

5. Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To understand which features are used and where the app can be improved, Tidify uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service of Google. It records events such as finishing onboarding, whether photo access was given (full, limited or denied), starting and ending a review session with the number of items reviewed and binned and how long it took, undoing a swipe, restoring items from the Bin, deleting items with the number of items and megabytes freed, opening the Tidify Pro offer (which screen it was opened from) and buying it (the product only; Google Play's own purchase event records the price), each ad shown (its format), and the estimated revenue of each ad shown in the app (ad network, ad format, amount and currency). Analytics also records standard app events (first open, sessions, app updates), the device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate location derived from the IP address (country or region) and a random app instance identifier created by Analytics. While ads are shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK also records ad events (ad requests, impressions and taps) in Analytics. Events never contain your photos, videos, file names, dates of your photos or album names.

Analytics is switched off when the app starts and is only switched on after the consent step: where GDPR applies, only if you agreed to storing information on your device and to measurement (IAB TCF purposes 1 and 9); elsewhere, once the consent step has finished. Analytics in Tidify never uses the advertising ID or the Android ID, and its advertising features (ad storage, ad personalisation, ad user data) are always off. You can turn it off at any time in Settings › Usage statistics; withdrawing consent in Ad privacy choices turns it off too. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months. See Google Analytics data practices and Privacy and Security in Firebase.

Tidify also uses Firebase Remote Config, a service of Google, to adjust settings such as how often ads appear without releasing a new version. The app downloads these settings from Google; this uses a random Firebase installation identifier and sends no information about your photos.

6. Purchases

The one-time "Tidify Pro" purchase is processed by Google Play Billing on Android, or by the Apple App Store on iOS, under their own terms and privacy policies (Google, Apple). We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only receives confirmation from the store that the purchase was made, and saves a "Pro" flag on your device. "Restore purchases" asks the store again.

7. Ratings

Tidify may occasionally offer to let you rate the app. This uses the review screen built into Google Play or the App Store; any review you write is handled by them and is not seen by us inside the app.

8. What we do not do

9. Legal bases (UK and EU GDPR)

Halo Apps is the controller for the processing described in this policy, Google is an independent controller for some advertising data and Google is our processor for Firebase. We rely on:

Google may process data in countries outside the UK and the EEA, including the United States, using safeguards recognised by law such as standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because Tidify has no account and we do not hold data linked to your identity, most of these rights are easiest to exercise with the controls above (in-app settings, your phone's ad settings, uninstalling the app) or directly with Google. You can also email us and we will help.

If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EEA you can complain to your local data protection authority.

US residents. We do not sell personal information for money. Use of advertising identifiers by the ads SDK may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some US state laws; you can opt out using the in-app ad privacy choices (where shown), Settings › Usage statistics, or your device's ad settings.

11. Children

Tidify is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, contact us and we will help.

12. Security

Data stored by Tidify stays in the app's private storage on your device. Data sent by the Google services described above is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, for example when the app adds a new feature or service, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a change materially affects how your data is used, we will also tell you in the app where appropriate.
